Registration
Greetings FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Participants:
Welcome to the 2009 FIRST LEGO League Smart Move Season!
Registration is open now through September 30th or until all slots are filled, whichever comes first. Please note that FLL materials (Robot Set and Field Setup Kit) must be ordered by this deadline, but are subject to product availability. The maximum capacity is 5,100 teams (US and Canada.) We encourage early registration, product ordering, and payment to ensure timely receipt of program materials. MINDSTORMS RCX Robot Sets and Coaches' Handbooks begin to ship in June. MINDSTORMS NXT Robot Sets and Field Setup Kits begin to ship in August.
Please note that there is a surge in registration during mid-August to September 30th. If you place your order during this time period, you may experience a slight delay in order processing.
To register your team(s), go to the FIRST web site http://firstlegoleague.org/community/HomePage.aspx and click on the register a team link. On the FLL Registration Page you will find important information pertaining to registration, such as steps to complete a team registration, product description and pricing, and contact information.
Some helpful hints are: Read “Important Registration Information” on the FLL Team Registration web site prior to proceeding with registration; MINDSTORMS NXT is designed to run on Windows XP and MacOS X. Your order is not complete until you hit “Place Order” and see an on-line order confirmation on the screen, even if a team number has been assigned; If you are using purchase order as a payment method and the PO number is not available, enter “TBD” in the PO number field; Team registration fee ($150 USD) does not include the Field Setup Kit nor does it guarantee one will be available in September. Please order your Field Setup Kit early; Team registration process and fee do not include participation in an event; Use an email address that can receive outside email (some schools’ firewalls do not accept outside emails); For U.S. Teams: In response to popular demand, LEGO Education has initiated a pro forma (provided in advance) invoice to allow the option to make payment prior to the shipping of your order. This is especially beneficial to those teams spending funds during the fiscal year ending July 1, 2009. LEGO Education will send a final sales invoice when your order ships reflecting your payment status at that time. We look forward to welcoming you back for the 2008 Climate Connections Challenge!
Sincerely,
FLL Staff
Go Teams!
